2027 Budget: BAP increased to RM200, Form Six students to receive RM2,500 allowance - Sinardaily - 9/10 4:51 pm SHAH ALAM The Early School Assistance (BAP) will be increased from RM150 to RM200 per student under Budget 2027, benefiting 5.3 million students nationwide.Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government had allocated RM1 billion for the assistance to help families prepare for the 2027 school session.This means a family with four children will receive RM800 to prepare for the 2027 school session, he said when tabling Budget 2027 in Parliament today.Anwar, who is also the Prime Minister, said the assistance would be distributed through schools so parents could meet teachers to discuss their children's academic progress and character development.Meanwhile, the government will provide a cost-of-living allowance of RM2,500 for Form Six students, benefiting 90,000 students.Anwar said the allowance, announced earlier, would be on par with the rate given to matriculation students.The government has also allocated RM870 million for the Supplementary Food Programme (RMT), which will benefit more than 800,000 students. |
